Melted plastic in my dishwasher...is it toxic? Should i throw my daughters things away? What should I do!!!

Yesterday night I heard and smelt burning and I quickly realized it was my dishwasher!!!

One of my daughters spoon fell on top of the coils and melted 🤦🏻‍♀️

My husband quickly removed it and we let everything that was in the washer air dry over night. The next morning I emptied the dishwasher and put everything on my counter and ran a water cycle with just vinegar in hopes to clean it.

I then put all the dishes that were in the washer while the plastic melted and washed them again. They still smelt like plastic. So I washed them again and they STILL smell like plastic!!! Its such a horrible smell.

What should I do? I had my daughters plates, forks, spoons, bibs, etc. In there. Is it safe to give them to her? I’m super paranoid!!!! Also, how can I get rid of this smell?

If anyone has gone through this and has advice that would be great. I’m convinced I need a new dishwasher and new everything 😂 I’m such a paranoid first time mama!
