Can anyone tell my whyyyy all these -Lynn/-leigh names are so dang popular?

As a teacher, I honestly CAN'T anymore, those names are torturing to even spell in spelling time (Reception, Y1 and Y2 teacher here).
Like yeah, I named my now 4 yr old daughter Brooklyn, but I consider that acceptable. And also it was wayyyy before the trend started. (thank God😅)
But all the Lakelynn's ,Brynlynn's , Rylynn's Emmaly's, Ivylynn's and Rosely's are totally killing me! 😫
Like Kimberly? That's a normal name. But Preslynn? Really?😐

I think Lynn and Leigh are cute middles if named after someone and are fine if they go with a normal name like Brooklyn or Kimberly or whatever, but yeah, the Emmaleighs and Brynlynns are killing me 🙈

I had my daughter July 2018. I named her Kayleigh Lyn but not based off of any fad. My middle name is Leigh so I wanted to incorporate that. And my sister's middle name is Lyn 😊

LOL I’m with you 🤦🏻‍♀️  I really didn’t mind it until I met my husbands family...my husbands fathers middle name was Lynn so all the grandchildren thus far have “Lynn” in their name (Brookelynn, Madilynn and Evelynn - yes with the 2 n’s). Even the little boy has an “n” sound to his name. 
My husbands sister has given us Lynn sounding names, like Oaklynn, to put on our name list if we have a girl 😳 We are pregnant now and our girl name is Caroline. NOT CAROLYN, CAROLINE. No one in his family knows our name yet but if/when we do have a girl I bet someone will try to convince us to do Carolyn instead. Like nope 🤷🏻‍♀️ 
Also, my husbands siblings have Lynn as their middle names, while my husband is Lee.....so Lynn is definitely not my husbands thing...and no we aren’t going to have any Lee names either 😂
