Christians and ivf
I have my own opinions on this but I am interested in others opinions. How do you feel about
as a Christian?
I personally feel like it’s wrong to have embryos on ice that never get used/that get discarded/that get donated for medical research or whatever because I believe that life begins at conception.
But I’d like to hear other people’s opinions on it. Thanks.
Editing to add that we have been struggling with infertility and are receiving fertility treatments which is why I ask for others opinions.
Edit for Sarai: it’s not the fact that it’s a fertility treatment, it’s the fact that babies can get destroyed in the process. I guess I wouldn’t have a problem with it if they only made 1 embryo at a time, but I know that’s not really feasible. But I’m open to hearing other people’s viewpoints on it. I’m not opposed to fertility treatments, but I have a problem with embryos getting destroyed. My husband and I are going to begin the adoption process of these fertility treatments don’t work. I am also not trying to say that women who have does this are bad. I’m just saying I personally feel like it is wrong to destroy embryos. I’m also against abortion for this same reason. I would feel like I had sinned against God if I did ivf personally. I wouldn’t feel like a “terrible Christian” but I would feel like I had sinned.
