Birth plan question
So this is my 4th baby. I’m trying to enjoy this last and final pregnancy as much as possible and that includes planning on enjoying the birth as much as possible. My other 3 babies where delivered by a pretty laid back doctor who let your body do what it needs to with very minimal interventions I loved this about him. However is he retired and I have a new one and she is pretty much the same.
I’m going to a new hospital this time and would like to ask the staff to be hands off of the baby right after birth. Meaning I’d like the baby to be put on my chest. Truly I’d like to be the one catching the baby when born or my husband and putting him or her on me right after but we will see. Anyway I’d like the baby( as long as it is doing well) to be left alone no suction or rubbing to get the baby to respond or cry right Away. I’d like for room to be a calm and quiet as possible for at least an hour after the baby is born, then allow for assessments.
My question is, is this an unreasonable request or do we give that up when delivering at a hospital?
