Autism in Adults

So I am a 22 year old woman, and was diagnosed with High Functioning Asperger’s Syndrome when I was 12 years old. I heard about how sometimes it’s harder for women to be diagnosed as easily as men do because we mask. Masking basically is when we are really good at pretending we’re like everyone else even though we have plenty of our own struggles growing up on the point of the spectrum we are on. Well I wanted to learn more about autism and how to help myself do better in society (because lately honestly social cues have been so hard to read and I’ve been getting worse at masking). So yeah anyways I went to look up books to read on the topic and I share an Amazon account with my mom. I knew she researched what I’m dealing with but I could help but to tear up when I saw she recently read a book about Asperger’s Syndrome in adult women. I have been feeling so alone lately in trying to figure out how to deal with things but little did I know my mom is still fighting for me and trying her best to support me even if she doesn’t always tell me she is. Don’t get me wrong. My mom is amazing and I love her so much; I just didn’t know she was still continuously researching. I feel so immensely blessed to have such an amazing mother.
