Maternity clothes

Dionne

Hi! I’m almost near my due date, but I wanted to check back in with this group because I remember how much I hated finding the right clothes for my growing body. I am fairly petite but not super skinny. I work in a business-casual but expected sit stand run kneel play toilet etc (Public School PreK) só looking presentable but able to do my job.

Here’s what worked for me:

Step-in shoes: pull-on boots, slide in sneakers, flats. Bending over to tie or zip is no fun as you get bigger. Get comfy supportive shoes to last the next few months. I did not have a lot of swelling, but one size up is something to consider regardless.

Old Navy: one maternity dress, xxl button

downs and tunics, stretchy pullover tent dresses, cardigans. I cannot stress how a couple of good cardigans helped me get mileage out of non maternity clothes

ThredUP,Salvation Army&Goodwill& other consignment shops: ladies, we wear this stuff for a few months only and some ladies splurge on a ton of stuff and then get rid of it. Take advantage. I spent very little money on a few maternity tank dresses and tunic length tees and a super cute kimono thingie.

ASOS: hands down the BEST maternity leggings. I wore my regular clothes until the middle of my second trimester and then my belly just grew. The maternity leggings from ASOS grew with me, they were inexpensive, and they arrived within a few days of ordering. I think I had 5 pairs for the rest of my pregnancy and I plan to wear them post partem until the swelling recedes.

Hope this helps!
