Pumping milk and adding it to bottle in fridge?

Question

I'm a FTM and just got my milk in. I have only a tiny bit in a bottle in the fridge. Can I pump some more and add it into that same container that has the fridge milk? Or do I need to use a different bottle to store?

My breasts are engorged and hurt. I don't want to use a bottle yet so I thought I could save the milk for a later time.

It's totally fine to add milk to some you have in the fridge, but it's recommended that you chill it to the same temp first. So I'd pump it into another container and put it in the fridge to cool, then combine them later.

I do this all the time. What I pump for the day I leave in the individual bottles it was pumped in. The next morning when I'm moving on to the next "batch" I put it in a freezer bag to freeze. The only rule I was told by my lc was to make sure it's all the same temperature when mixing. She also said if I have a low out out day I could mix up to 3 days of milk in the same container as long as I used the first day pumped as the expiration.

You dontw any to add warm milk to cold milk. Pump it and put it in the fridge and once cold combine it with the other bottle. You want them to be the same temp when they are combined.

I would say that's fine but when determining an expiration use the date of when you first supplied. Also I'd be quick to keep it cold so that you aren't constantly bringing the supply to room temp.
