Change of due date?

I’m at my first appointment. Based on my lmp I’m 9 weeks and 6 days. But based on the ultrasound I’m 8 weeks and 2 days. The heart beat was strong and 167. 
They said based on the ultrasound they’re changing my due date from October 7 to October 18. 
Is this common? It did take me a week after my period to test positive.

Just means you either ovulated late or implanted late, or both. No reason to worry!

Yes, totally normal and going off of the ultrasound is more accurate than your period.

It’s normal! With my son they bumped my due date up a week because he was measuring ahead.

With my first my due date changed 3 times in the first 4 months and then I was induced on a completely different day. Frustrating but normal.

This is absolutely common. It’s bc until they do the first ultrasound, they are basing your due date off of the start of your last period instead of your ovulation date. I’m fully expecting my due date to change by 1-2 weeks bc I was tracking my ovulation.

I have PCOS so I can’t really trust LMP dating. My pregnancy was confirmed with a blood test so I guessed based on approximate HCG.
When I went for my first scan I was only off by about 4 days.  
Had I gone by LMP I’d have been behind by 4 weeks! Now that would have been scary.

Mine went from the 12th of October to the 10th of October which the 12th makes more sense or the small difference in the timeframe don’t matter ?
