Newborn Laundry detergent

Hey friends! I had registered for Dreft laundry detergent to start washing all the new clothes for baby girl. I’ve started reading reviews...quite a few actually...that the new smell is just overpowering and awful! I’m sure my girl will have sensitive skin like her father and I...what alternatives do you mamas like or use? Or is the new smell not as bad as you think?

I’ve done research on healthy laundry detergents and I’ve been using this one since my girl was a baby and I use it for our clothes too. It’s kind of expensive but one bottle lasts me 8 months (family of 3) since you only need a small capful each load. No strong scent.

We wash our sons clothes with ours and haven't had any issues. I have sensitive skin and expected him to as well, so far no reactions and no issues at all.

I really liked the Tide Free and Gentle. I do agree that dreft has a VERY strong scent and I'm sensitive to strong aromas. I do like the All Free and clear but I felt like it left my baby's clothes smelling weird, idk maybe it's just me. But I did love this Tide for his first 6 months until I began to wash with regular detergent slowly to see the reactions he would have. If you would like soft aroma to add you could always use any of the detergents you get recommended and add some Dreft Scent Booster beads or Ensueno baby fabric softener. That's just what I would use for my son when he was first born.
