When to introduce baby to family members pets

Question

What age do you introduce your baby to a family member’s pets? My boyfriend’s parents have three cats and three dogs.  We don’t have any pets in our apartment so I’m wondering how to go about taking the baby over to visit with all the animals. 
His mom doesn’t listen unless his dad says something to her. She’ll say “that’s ridiculous.” Or call someone a stupid cunt.

We never made it a point to hold off introductions. With some dogs, the owner would sit with their pet, kinda holding them/petting the chest, while I sat next to them with baby and showed the dogs. With others I sat with baby and let the dogs come to us (while leashed) to sniff. It all depends on how the animal responds to new things, and owners should know their pets to know what to do.

We already had cats in the house but I introduced my baby to my moms dog at about 6 weeks. I held the baby and my mom held her dog on a leash to see how the reacted to each other. It worked well and the dog loves the baby but the baby doesn't appreciate surprise slobbery dog kisses lol. I think it is important to get kids accustomed to things early, whether it be animals or public places etc. That's just my opinion though. To each their own

From day 1. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The animals are going to be curious, you might as well let them take a peek at the baby. I let my dogs and also my parent’s dogs check both of my kids out and smell them. Once they got to see/smell, they were like oh, ok tiny human...cool then they moved on and didn’t bother the babies.

My MIL brought her ankle biter to our house three days after our daughter was born. So literally the day after we got released from the hospital. He’s not even potty trained so she had to put a pad down on our kitchen floor 😑. He was jumping up on the couch, getting in our daughters face, and chewing on her blankets. If the pet isn’t well behaved, I wouldn’t bring your child around it. 
But at the same time, my grandpa has an older dog that we have no issue bringing her around. The dog has sniffed her a few times, but other than that, she has no interest in her whatsoever. It really just depends on the way the animal behaves.

i don't have kids but i've had to introduce my pets to baby cousins and the like. personally i'd wait until they're older (if possible) as kids can get excited easily and start grabbing at animals. some kids are very gentle with them, but it's best to avoid making the animals feel threatened and potentially harming the kid in self-defense. once they're about toddler age they start to understand when you teach them about being gentle.
