Waking baby to eat

First time mom here. My son is one week old and I try to feed him every 3 hours but sometimes he wakes up at that 3rd hour but if he doesn’t how long should I wait around to wake him? Usually I only let him go 3.5 hours I don’t want him to be to hungry.

Well ladies during the night I decided not to wake babe. He only woke up at 3 and 7 to eat!
