I have the mirena/LILETTA IUD.

Mirena and LILETTA (sorry it keeps autocorrecting that to all caps) are basically the same thing.

My friend told me her OB told her it lasts 3 years. My OB said 6 years.

I looked it up and some sources do say 3 years

But the actual website says 6

I trust my doctor and I wanna go by what he says but why do some sources say 3 years? I did some more reading and it says that over the years it starts releasing less and less hormones, thus less protection against pregnancy. In or after 3 years I don’t want to be getting pregnant on the IUD, it’s giving me anxiety and I don’t know what to think.

I know, “trust your fucking doctor he went to school for this.” Is in my head too. But I have anxiety and my friend if I’m honest is not helping. I know she’s just looking out but 😐
