How does the Coronovirus compare to the Swine Flu?

I was very young during the Swine Flu pandemic & I don’t remember the effects it had. Was there this much of an uproar during the Swine Flu? All of the stores in my town ran out of toilet paper and cleaning supplies. They literally switched my courses to online. I’m starting to freak out a little. Do you think things are gonna get worse?

It will probably get worse before it gets better. From what I remember of the Swine Flu, it wasn’t as serious as this. School continued on as normal, more people were sick, some died, but it wasn’t as bad as this. I’d have to google to look back and see what the actual death rate of it was, but I do know it wasn’t this high.
COVID-19 is different in that it has a very high death rate (3.4%) but those who are dying are mostly in their 50-60s+. It’s not the young and healthy that are dying. You probably have very little to worry about. 
Take precautions. Wash your hands, don’t be around people who are sick, don’t travel unnecessarily. If you get sick, stay home. Don’t go anywhere unless necessary.

I was 21 when there was the swine flu outbreak. There wasn’t this much going on with that. This is more serious.

I actually had the swine flu and my daughter who was only 6 months old at the time and she had it too. It came on so sudden, middle of the summer & I can’t even remember how or where we would have caught it.
I brought her to the emergency room because she had a fever of almost 104. While I was there they noticed my condition and tested me for it too and we were both positive. 
I remember feeling like absolute death, burning from the inside out, feeling like I was just hit by a speeding car and no one to help me with my daughter.
I still have our hospital paperwork/bracelets as a memoir.

I was 16 when swine flu was bad. My school got shut down because so many kids were out sick or their parents kept them out. At one point my class with like 28 students got down to 6. I ended up catching the swine flu and was hospitalized. I had a fever of 105, I couldn’t keep down fluids and I was SICK.
