Because I’m tired of thinking about the damn Coronavirus...

I always load the dishwasher with silverware handles sticking up. That seems like the obvious way to do it: you hold the handle (rather than the end that has food and saliva on it) to put them in the dishwasher and then when they’re clean you grab the handle (and not the end that will go in someone’s mouth) to remove them from the dishwasher. I also think it’s dangerous to have the pointed end of knives sticking up out of the silverware basket.

But some people do it the other way - including my stepdaughter which makes me think they must do it that way at her moms house.
