Infant Gas Remedies?
My little girl gets so gassy, when she has gas she only sleeps for short stretches (about 30 minutes) at night and gets very fussy during the day. I’m hoping you can offer some advice, I don’t like seeing her so uncomfortable and I would also love a little more sleep!
She’s gets breastmilk typically from a bottle (unfortunately we didn’t master an effective latch) I’ve eliminated all of the common food sensitivities from my diet (onions/garlic, cruciferous vegetables, dairy, nuts, etc.) hoping this might help.
I’ve also:
-switched to Dr. Brown’s anti-colic bottles (this seems to have helped reduce severity)
- given her gas drops (Mylicon) to help break up the gas
- pumped her legs to help pass the gas
- more frequent burping during feedings
- “colic carry” and more tummy time to put gentle pressure on her tummy to help pass gas
These steps have improved things but we still are having these tummy troubles. I know it’s gas because I can hear it gurgling in her gut, and she will usually pass a good amount of gas when I pump her legs. After she passes a large amount of gas or has a bowel movement she will settle. But the restless/uncomfortable period can last hours, I would just like to do whatever I can to help!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice!
