Is flying safe?

I wouldnt fly unless necessary but my aunt who has cancer, her home nurse can not work anymore.. she has no one to look after her and i plan to until i can find someone else, i would be flying to texas. Im torn.. im scared to get the virus but she also needs someone and has no one

If you do fly, you should not be in contact with your aunt for the first 2 weeks after you arrive! With cancer she will be severely immune compromised and you could transmit it to her even if you are asymptomatic.

I advise against it. But if you must because of the circumstances then go now. We’re at a level 3 health advisory. If we get to a level 4 flying wouldn’t happen because at that point it’s “do not travel”. They are screening people at the airport for it. But not everyone shows symptoms right away. So wash your hands often. Try to find an empty as possible plane and hope for the best.

The issue with this is you could be a carrier of the virus or pick it up on your way to see your aunt.. like another commenter said you’ll need to self isolate for two weeks before you can even see her and even then it’s risky as you could be bringing in harmful germs to someone who already seems quite weak and susceptible! I know it’s a hard situation but Realistically it could do more harm than good so that’s something to consider before travelling! And not to mention a travel band that may happen you might not be able to get home if you go
