Do breast implants really need to be replaced after ten years?

Does anyone here have breast implants that are over ten years old?? 
I got implants in 2011.  I was 23 years old at the time.  My doctor told me that in ten years they will have to be replaced.  Ok no big deal.  Now it’s coming on ten years next year and I am in a totally different financial situation.  I have 2 young kids and I can afford the 12k but I feel pretty selfish dropping that much money on a new set of boobs when that can go to my kids college fund or getting our bathroom redone. I don’t really have the same priorities that I did at 23 years old.  
I don’t have any problems with mine now, I mean that deff don’t look at good as they did when I first got them done, after being thru 2 pregnancies, so I would like to hold off maybe 5 or 6 years.  But at the same time I don’t want to have any complications then end up needing an “emergency boob job”. 
Do I REALLY need to get them redone next year?? Anyone else have old implants (lmao)

After watching way too many episodes of botched I would say yes. So many of them walk around with implants that's broken(in addition to having a botched operation of course). It's horrifying to see them trying to get all the silicon out.

If you don’t want to get them replaced, I’d at least go get them checked for the reasons the first commenter said. What if something isnt right? Broken, ripped, shifted etc. it’s been a decade. They don’t just tell you that to tell you that. It’s a foreign object in your body. Even if there is nothing wrong with the implant, all of my girl friends that waited a little longer noticed rippling and misshapen boobs and that alone made them go get them fixed. Your body, your choice... but I wouldn’t risk it.

I heard you don’t HAVE to... just keep an eye out On them. But that’s just what I heard. I could easily be wrong.

Maybe ask both your surgeon and your OB. I got my cohesive gel ones in 2012. I believe recommendation was MRI check up every 5 years.

My surgeon told me that’s the recommendation but that if mine weren’t causing me any problems, I didn’t have to replace them at the 10 yr mark. I’ve had mine 9 years and will consider replacing them maybe 2-3 years after my current pregnancy

I just had mine done last year and mine have a 20 year guarantee. I don’t need to get them redone for 20 years. I spent good money and found an amazing surgeon. This is also in Canada so not sure if that makes a difference

It really depends on how well they have survived. A good doctor can tell you the truth and not just want your money. Also are they silicone or saline? Lots of variables.

I had mine done in 2009 and have not had them replaced or even considered it. Mine are saline and I’ve had 2 kids since having them done. Yes my breasts have changed but nothing to do with the implants.

I got mine done in 2007 and have had zero problems or major changes. Obviously, pregnancy and nursing my first and now pregnancy with my twins has changed my boobs a LOT, but I got 300cc silicone, under the muscle, and have had no issues at all. Every year during my gyno exam I get a breast check and every year there’s nothing to be concerned about...
