Why ....??

Why do the parents in my apartment complex think “social distancing” means letting your kids outside unsupervised to play with and then and touch all the other kids in the complex all day🤨🤨

A-arent taking it seriously
B- don't give a shit all around
C- can't be bothered to deal with bored kids so they let them to whatever just to get them out of thier hair, regardless of if it defeats the entire purpose of what's happening right now

Maybe they think it's stupid to hide in their house alone? Just stay away and keep your kids away if you don't like it.

I have a 10 and 12 year old and they are allowed to go outside. They know not to touch anything or anyone aside from sticks etc throw a ball to each other  but if other kids come outside they’re going to talk to them. If the kids are sneezing they know to stay away or come back inside. I’m not dumb and they’re not unsupervised, they come in take their shoes off before entering, wash they’re hands and I do laundry almost every day. After sitting inside for hours with a 3 year old and them while I’m 6 months pregnant , I would say going outside for an hour is alright. Do you have any school age children?

I'm not social distancing lol. 🤷 I'll wait until the military comes and forces us to. Until then, I'm going to work like normal, and I'm still going to the store and seeing people I usually would hang out with

It can be extremely difficult to 1. Keep kids entertained enough at home/inside the house, and 2. Be cooped up together so much, for so long. My 11 year old has his devices, which entertains him for the most part, but at times he can get really bored hella fast & will literally complain non-stop about it, because he’s wanting friends to play with. Not to mention, he & I being cooped up together so much drives both of us insane, again, especially when he’s just complaining & having a horrible attitude. Seriously, we end up wanting to kill each other because of it. Plus, he’ll also eat us out of house & home. I swear he eats every hour since being home. So, yes, last night I let him stay at a cousin’s house & then today they went to a friend’s house for the day. The friend’s mother wanted to give me a little break, especially since I had been watching her son the past 3-4 days (two days sleeping over) while she had to work & didn’t have another sitter. We’re actually taking turns having the boys over for these exact reasons while school is out. U (generally speaking) can’t expect every single person/family to just stop their life & isolate themselves for weeks or months. It’s simply unrealistic 🤷‍♀️
I understand being cautious, but if people just practice good hygiene, and stay home if they’re sick/feeling sick, then we will be fine. This virus has a low death rate here in the US, and most people only have mild-moderate symptoms. The recovery rate is well over 90%. So, be cautious, yes, but not fearful or paranoid! And, try to be at least somewhat understanding of the struggles some people are dealing with during this time, regardless of what those struggles may be.
