What clothes should I buy for baby?!

Might seem like a silly question.. but I’m starting to buy clothes for my boy due in July and am totally overwhelmed. 
What do you mamas recommend for the beginning? Just pajamas and comfy clothes? Onesies? How long are babies typically in NB clothes for? 
Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated! It will be July and we live in California so will be warm!

My little one lived in sleepers that zipper from the bottom up so you can change diapers without undressing them completely. Definitely avoid things with buttons or too many snaps. Trust me! Buttoning while sleep deprived is so frustrating.

My kids lived in little cotton onesies and cotton pants, day or night, mostly long sleeve because my house is a little chilly. Then I had a couple of cuter outfits for occasions.

my baby was in newborn about a month. didn’t waste money on newborn clothes my friend gave me a big bin full. i’d say spend most of yourself money on 0-3 month clothes and mostly sleepers and onesies. mine lived in those the first month. she was so fragile and tiny i hated putting complicated outfits on her, like twister got her an overall outfit , super cute. super annoying and not practical lol.  get enough for how often you want to wash. for me i usually like to have 2 weeks of sleepers and onesies plus outfits because i hate washing so often.

My boy is due in July also, my girls were born in August and September I found with them at the house with the air on all the time I kept them in either light weight sleepers or onesies with light pants so I have bought the same for him plus a few outfits for dr appointments.
