Will China lose some market hold?

J

During the worldwide slowdown/shutdown, there has been many shortages of products and medicines due to COVID in addition to general usage. China provides the majority of antibiotics, vitamins, and vaccines for many countries. (Among other things like rare earth metals and scarce minerals)

Some US security advisors have reported this dependency as a threat to national security.

Because of what has happened now, with many countries' supply chains delayed or cut, some are thinking of immediately or eventually stopping the import of Chinese products so that each can be better prepared in future pandemics, wars, or environmental disasters.

So, questions are:

Is it wise to reduce or completely eliminate the reliance on Chinese made products?

Do you believe your government will decide to, and go through with reducing dependence?

Does China's use of unfair labor or other governmental policies affect your opinion on this?

Any other thoughts?
