It’s unlikely. People don’t actually change unless it’d for themselves and even that can be very challenging. I don’t think giving someone a chance is wrong but I also don’t think that said person shouldn’t be guarded and be on the lookout for red flags.

If someone has spent a lifetime living those behaviors i dont think its as easy as the right person coming along and them deciding to change. I think if that person was willing to get professional help and do the work required to be healthy they may be able to change.
