Might be broken

So one time I had sex and I was on top it was dark. When we stopped there was blood on my boyfriend and myself it did not look good. I cried on the way home while he told me it was okay. When I got home I looked and there was a fleshy skin string thing hanging out of my vagina I’ve never seen before. All together it was about and inch long and hurt when I pulled or touched it. The tip was red and the whole situation was terrible. I haven’t told my boyfriend about it so he just thinks it was Bc of how hard we were going. Anyone know what this is or can clarify what happened?
