Castor oil ?

Thoughts on taking castor oil to bring on baby ? Ive heard very different opinions and this momma is desperate

Nooo it stresses the baby out and they could end up with meconium in their amniotic fluid! Very dangerous not worth it

Castor oil is a strong laxative, not just to you, but also to your baby. Meaning they could poop in the womb and breathe it in. Castor oil is only supposed to be used under very close medical supervision. Don't risk it

It's very dangerous. Best case scenario. Things will be fine. Worst case, you baby could DIE. Just because it worked and was fine for someone else doesnt mean it's safe

Just because you’re ready doesn’t mean baby is, best case it makes you completely ill and dehydrates your body enough to put you into labor. Worst case you actually do this and regret it because something awful happened such as baby passing fecal matter in the womb

My mom did that with all three of us kiddos but we were all 2 weeks late not early. It worked for her but I don’t recommend it because it has risks 😕 
Membrane sweep —> sex. Should help speed things along if baby is ready. Eating 6 dates a day should help as well (but you’re supposed to start that around 34 weeks I think). Clary Sage is supposed to also help get things going if baby is ready. With my first, I made bath bombs with Clary Sage and used them when my midwife approved it (39 weeks - delivered 4 days later after membrane sweep & sex - 100% effaced and 2cm dilated by the time I had sweep).
