Would you pay a DAILY rate of $75-$100 for an in home daycare for your child?

I saw someone charging this and thought it was outrageous! Most daycares in the area charge $25-$35 for a daily drop in rate, or $120-$150/week/child. 
She says it’s her only source of income so she needs to charge that much. I feel like most parents don’t make that much in a day that could just go to daycare. Maybe I’m wrong though. 
We live in a suburban area in Texas, so minimum wage is $7.75.

Daycare and independent are VERY different. Rates will vary because of this. If you have 1 person watching they are giving their full attention. In daycare I might send my child in and she’s 1 of 6 at her age.

If that’s the drop in rate, yes. If that’s per day regular daycare coverage, no. That seems pretty high. My aunt has an in home daycare and charges a significant amount more for daily/drop in care as opposed to regular care. She needs a consistent income so it promotes people to pay her weekly vs. daily. She charges about $200 a week or $70 for daily.

I pay $200 per week for full-time. The daily rate for part-time is $50. I have 2 kids, no way I could afford $100 per day. I live in a suburban area.

My husband and I pay $37 for a whole day at daycare and $27 for a half day. That is outrageous to expect parents to pay that much per day!

I was a nanny for one child and was paid $15/hour which came out to about $120/day.
Is this person in-home as in, in YOUR home? Or in their own home? If they’re coming to your home they have to charge that much becsuse your kid is getting 1 on 1 care. If they’re in their home and have other kids come to their daycare then that’s a little pricey.

The day care we are planning to use is $65/day and is not in home. I would just compare her to other in home sitters in your area. They may charge something similar, or she may have other significant advantages that would make her deserve higher compensation. If she’s higher for no reason and you can find someone you feel is just ask skilled for less then you have your answer.

If I could afford it, and thought the person was trust worthy, yes. Some people make great money and would be willing to especially at thisntime to keep their kids from others.

Our daycare is almost $500/week. There isn’t an option of a daily rate, but if you break it down, it $95/day. It is a daycare center though, not in home. He can be there up to 10 hours, and the center is open 6:30-6:30. The drop-off time is flexible.
