Did you take back a cheater?

So I found out my boyfriend cheated on me. He felt guilty and stopped but then broke up with me because of the guilt. I love him so much and I know that if he did it once he would do it again, but what if he wants to get back together? Try to mend the relationship. What did you do? Or what would you do?

Yea I did. He cheated on me when my grandfather died. Wasn’t going to take him back but when I made him pick between his friendship with the one girl and a friendship with me, he chose me. This happened 12 years or so ago, we broke up for 2 years, and ended up back together in 2010. Everyone who tried to destroy our relationship we eliminated from our lives and we are so much happier now than we’ve ever been.

I was in this same situation and the thought of my love cheating never left my mind. Even when I tried to take him back, it was on my mind every night laying next to him... wondering if he’s doing it again. My advise is to stop wasting your precious time on someone who wasn’t faithful to you. It takes a big toll on your mental health trying to get over something like that and being with that same person. My mental health was so bad that it took a toll on my physical health. I was just thinking of everything I did wrong to lead him to do that... but I finally realized that I can not put this on me and I need to think about me first. The bad will always outweigh the good when it comes to cheating. I had just signed a lease for an apartment and all... I thought I was stuck... but you need to do what’s best for you and you only

My husband told me about how he accidentally kissed another girl when he was in a relationship once and he was feeling so bad and so guilty that he told her rightaway.. And she broke up but the guilt he felt was so painful he's never ever even thought about cheating ever again. He's turning 42 this year. 
If he feels guilty for his act and not for you finding out.. It's got a chance
