So last night me and my partner were having sex and afterwards I was bleeding a good bit. I just got my IUD in February so I’ve still been been spotting but this was bright red blood and earlier in the day I was only spotting a little bit of dark brown blood. During intercourse some positions hurt when they normally don’t and we just rearranged ourselves.

I’m worried that my IUD came out of place and I checked for the strings and couldn’t find them. However I’ve only checked for them once before and couldn’t find them then either. I am going to make an appointment with my doctor but it’s is Sunday now so I will have to wait until tomorrow.

I am considering taking emergency contraception but I’m not sure if I should. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Or does anyone have any advice?
