🥩 FDA recommended safe internal temperature.

Mi

Just in case anyone was wondering.

My husband is making steaks 🥩 and I was pretty bummed bc I’m a medium rare/ rare kind of girl. Last time he made my steak it was practically jerky.

I know I’m pregnant but damn it was literally inedible. At that point I ’d rather not eat a steak and have a piece of chicken 🍗 instead.

Given we are in quarantine and the grocery options were limited we bought a couple of steaks for dinner tonight. I was trying to explain to my husband that even though I’m pregnant doesn’t mean my steak has to taste like a rubber tire! So I looked up the FDA recommendations for PREGNANT women. 145 F is considered the safe recommendation, aka MEDIUM WELL, you can even go up to 150 F and it’s still not considered “WELL”. Third pic is a reference for internal cooking temps. Love how they call any internal temp over 165 F “what have you done” 😄

All you need is a meat thermometer 🌡

I also recommend reading the fda’s food guidelines. I found it very informative. 👍

My steak was still pretty juicy and it’s safe for me and baby to eat. ❤️
