Does anyone live in an apartment complex and have outdoor cats?

Does anyone live in an apartment complex and have outdoor cats?
 One of my cats is always begging to go out, but I’m afraid he’ll get lost since all the apartments look the same, and I don’t want to lose him. Is that stupid? Would he be okay if I let him out?

I live in an apartment and my cat isn’t an outdoor cat and has snuck outside. He found his way home every time. He was an outdoor cat before I got him. 
He snuck out once and the reason I realized he did was because he was on our patio and another cat of ours went to the patio door 😂🤣

If you’re not 100% sure, I wouldn’t risk it if I were you. Also it wouldn’t hurt to microchip your pet if you do

I personally wouldn’t risk it. There’s not only the issue with him getting lost but also a bunch of cars. You should try getting him a harness, it takes some time for him to get used to it but once he learns he will love it!

I personally  hate outside cats you just never know what could happen  to them but if your kitty wants to go out why not walk them on leash 
I'm lucky I live on second  floor and we have porch so my toe kitty a love it when my kitten gets older were going to walk him on leash since hes hyper little boy

He’d look for your apartments smell! If you’re willing to take the precautions and deal with the risks. That means making sure he’s chipped, fixed, non aggressive, and trained to come home. Others have mentioned but he could get hurt or not come home and that’s what you’d have to deal with. People obviously already have outdoor cats at apartments but as an owner you’re responsible for them and assuring their safety
