New to M-cup

I'm currently trying the Flex cup. And I'm having some issues. I've always been squeamish about things going inside me, so it's leaked a little. Last night, I was able to get it in a little better while in the shower. But when I went to dump it this morning, I noticed a smell I never smelled before. Anyone have any tips or suggestions that would help.
