Skipped period on pill , sore breasts

So about a week ago I skipped my period on the pill (went straight into another pack) because I was going to visit my man ... my breasts are tender as of right now is that typical ? TMI he came in me once am I still protected as usual ? I’ve never skipped my period before is there anything wrong with that ? (I’ve been on the pill over a year)
