Should a mom be able to do this??

I dont know if this has been posted before. I’ve looked but can’t find anything so if it has I’ll delete this.

Anyways, I saw this video about labor and delivery and how some people are upset their family can’t be there since all this corona stuff. And it reminded me of this conversation I had with my mom about how this women told her teen daughter that she was NOT allowed to get the epidural because he chose to have a baby so she has to deal with the pain. Should a parent be allowed to say whether or not you’re allowed to get one?
