Bad mom?

Question

We have been quarantined in our house for 10 days now. My son is almost 21 months and I hate to admit this but we watch A LOT of tv now. It's the only thing that calms him down...dont get me wrong we play outside for 2 hours a day and we do other things but we do watch A LOT of tv these days. Am I a bad mom? I cant help but feel guilty but it keeps me sane during these trying times

No. These are really unique situations that none of us are used to. We’re all just doing what we can to make it through.

No your not a bad mom. It can be very hard to not  Rely on television. This quarantine hasn't changed my life much, because I was already a stay at home mom, and I've been a nanny so working with kids in home is already what I do. But now we dont have our grocery shopping break, our library story time break. 
But I would really try to give yourself a goal of how much television a day. I have seen so many negative outcomes later on in children's lifes because of to much television. 
Kids need to be taught to play by themselves as funny as that sounds. Grab a doll house, cars, animals whatever and show them how to play, act out feelings, activities, scenarios. If you think you look like your an idiot your doing it right 😆 now my son will go play with his doll house alone. I heard him "Rock chair....rock chair, daddy snuggle" he had taken the daddy, baby and rocking chair and was recreating our bedtime routine. 
But again I want to stress your not a bad mom. You will figure out a good routine and balance!

You are doing just fine mama! I’m almost 16 weeks pregnant and my 2 year old watches a lot of tv some days.. My energy is gone and certain days I just need to rest. Do what you have to do and don’t feel guilty!

Ure not..I'm right at that place w U..I habe 2 older kids n we had periods of alot of tv too..just keep it kid freindly..we.watch cheaper by the dozen n things like that so I dont go insane but yeah We re all gonna get through this

Not at all a bad mom being stuck inside we are just trying to survive boredom and do what we need to. Once in a while throw an easy activity for you and them the other day I boiled eggs and we colored them it was easy just put two cups with dye and water and my toddler kept dipping the egg in the cup and then next to a plate of glitter (use egg carton to dry them). I always try to do something easy and not too messy because im prego and tired.

Mama you are doing what works for your family right now! That makes you a GREAT MOM! We are in the same boat here. My daughter is 12mo and we don’t have a yard so o do what I have to do to get things done and that means tv for a bit right now 🤷🏼‍♀️

We can’t even leave our building, pretty much all we do is watch tv or play on our devices, when my kids aren’t doing their school work- which is on the computer. You’re fine mama, I’m sure we’re all doing the same

Not at all. I try to do projects and backyard play til after nap but they wake up at 3 or 4 and it’s pretty much strait tv until bedtime at 8. It’s hard work entertains toddlers lol. And when you can’t get out and change the scenery it’s even harder to keep them occupied. Right now too much tv is better than in the hospital with the virus so do what you go to do to stay away from people
