Going off birth control for health reasons

R.

I’m going off birth control. It’s a scary choice but I believe it is the best for my health. I have a chronic pain disorder that has only gotten worse since starting birth control, and I found out from a new doctor that it is known to cause people like me extra pain and is exacerbating my condition. So I’m kind of excited to go off and let my body regulate itself again. Especially since I have depression as well and I don’t think the pill makes that any easier.

BUUUT, I’m only 23 years old and I worry about pregnancy. I’m not looking to have a child any time soon and my partner respects my body and my decision to go off the pill. We agreed to go back to using condoms and I hope that goes well. The pill did ease all of my anxiety when it came to ensuring I got my period during that time of the month but I just don’t know. I’m sensitive to metals and hormones so I don’t think there’s another option for me out there yet.
