So let’s make it clear I don’t have an infection. And my urine is fine. I just had a culture done on Monday and it came back normal. However I’m experiencing a “different” smell down there.

It’s not a bad smell. It’s not fishy, or anything like that. I just notice an increase in discharge (which oddly enough doesn’t have the same smell) and then a super strong different smell that lingers behind. Its kind of earthy or semen-y type smell.

I’ve heard of hormone shifts before labor that can cause you to smell different down there but wasn’t sure how true it is. Any mommas experience this shift in smell before labor?

I have this feeling I’m gonna go into labor soon. Like the next 2 weeks soon. I’m 36 weeks on Monday and already 3cm dilated and 20% effaced and had to have contractions stopped on Monday when I turned 35 weeks. I have a history of preterm labor due to an incompetent cervix. I feel like I can make it to 37 weeks, but I surely don’t feel like I’ll make it to my due date (4/27). I’ve been noticing this smell since they told me I was dilated last Friday...

Just wondering if any of you mommas are noticing a change in your smell down stairs as you approach labor? Or noticed it and then went into labor within days or a couple weeks after?
