My son is 10 months old and he has had 4 ear infections. There is also fluid behind his ear drums. We were told 2 weeks ago that he would be scheduled for ear tube surgery. Now since COVID-19 they have closed the surgery center to elective surgery and I am extremely worried. The longer he goes without the surgery the greater the impact on his language development. The doctor said that he hears everything like he is under water. There is also the likelihood that he will develop another ear infection and he’s already had 4 rounds of antibiotics. I’m constantly anxious now. I never thought he had a problem with his hearing. He babbles to us and says dada. But I just can’t believe we don’t know when his surgery will be scheduled. I’m worried this will have a permanent impact. Any insight from moms would be helpful. Am I over reacting? Attached a picture of my cutie cracking up.
