Newborn baby must haves?

Things you couldn’t do without when you had your newborn. Things you wish you would’ve purchased. Things you wished you stayed away from.

I never knew how important swaddling would be until my LO arrived. We tried traditional swaddling with receiving blankets and the ones with the Velcro, but she only liked her arms down for the first couple weeks. She’s been in these ever since, and they help so much with sleep. 
Other essentials I couldn’t live without: Halo bassinet, two changing stations (one on each floor), a white noise machine (we have the Hatch), ZIPPERED sleep & play onesies, pacifiers (she likes the MAM brand), our jogging stroller/travel system), and Little Remedies brand gas drops. Oh, and lots of bibs and burping cloths. Our girl is a spitter 🤣 
I didn’t really need: Newborn outfits (we didn’t take her in public except to the doctor in the first two months.. she lived in the sleep & plays).

My baby loves this swaddle sleep sack! We got one from the hospital and had to buy a couple more. For warmer weather you can also get this swaddle in cotton. She does not sleep well without this. I recommend buying or borrowing a few different styles of swaddles to see what your baby prefers.

Some sort of bouncer or seat. Somewhere safe to set your baby down when you need both hands. I didn’t have this exact one, but it was similar.

A wipe warmer!! Baby boys have a tendency to pee in the middle of a diaper change and having this made a huge difference! 
I also liked having a little station at the changing table with everything that I needed. The other item that was huge was a little rocking seat similar to a bassinet. When I took a shower I'd lay my son down in it and place it outside the shower so I could keep an eye on him. 
If breastfeeding a milk catcher! It's a little plastic cup you can put under your bra and it will actually hold a decent amount of milk if you're leaking. That and pads to place inside the bra so that your bra and shirt don't get stained. I felt like I was constantly leaking. 
There were things people got us at the shower that we neve used but I can't recall what they were.
