Me and baby's father are not together but I'm wondering if I should give her his middle name. She will have my last name. I wasn't close with my father and want her and him to feel connected is this a bad idea?

Depends if he wants to be involved, I always say follow your heart/ I come from a divorced family and something I always appreciate from my mom was that she never ever told me anything bad about my dad, always pointed his good things/ I grew up with a dad from afar that wasn't there only thru phone calls but thanks to my mom I wasn't affected in a big way, I learned to understand him and now we are really close, we get along well and I think I am a normal healthy human been, thanks to my mom- and of course appreciate my mom even more after my dad open up and told me all the nasty stuff he did to mom (cheating etc not Abuse but that's bad enough) and how she love us so much that never ever mention any of that and only talk great about him to us.

My sister has her mostly absent fathers middle name and she hates it. She wishes she had a name of her own and not that sort of namesake
