Is 10 weeks too early to start buying baby stuff?

Had an ultrasound last week, baby was strong and a couple days ahead, heart beat was 179!
I don’t want to jinx it.

As much as I feel like I could jinx myself the earlier I start buying the better, so I can spread out the hits to my bank account over time lol.

I didn’t start buying anything until I knew the gender at 20 weeks. I would at least wait until the second trimester, when the risks go down.

I was in the third trimester before anyone started buying anything for my babies. And most of it came from garage sales. Cheap!!

Personally, I don’t think I’ll start buying anything until ~20 weeks. I’m 12w and haven’t bought anything for baby at all. But I’ve ordered some maternity clothes online because there was a good sale.

I feel this. I’ve had 3 miscarriages so for me this pregnancy Im very superstitious. I also feel like I’m going to jinx it if I don’t wait until after 12 weeks.

I would start working on the necessities (big things), bedroom furniture, travel system, pack n play, swing. I made sure that we got the essentials ourselves so that we wouldn’t be scrambling. If mom to mom sales are back in business after all of this, those are great for finding gently used things. Most of the stuff I have for baby is second hand because it doesn’t bother me. Clothes, high chair, receiving blankets, bibs, jumperoo, bassinet- they barely get any use before baby outgrows them. I’m greatful that I had been working on the essentials since my baby shower had to be canceled, there’s still some things high on my list before baby gets here but we can get by with what we have. 
For diapers/wipes I would say buy giftcards or just set money aside as you won’t know what baby’s skin is going to be sensitive to and don’t want to have a ton of those around that you can’t use. If you’re having a baby shower, you’ll most likely get a lot of the little things and clothes. We were supposed to have a diaper party with our shower.

It was super scary for me, I just experienced a miscarriage before this pregnancy and didn’t want to “jinx” it. But I do believe that if something meant to happen, it will happen. We started buying stuff around 10 weeks.

Do whatever you feel comfortable with! I bought a few items once I found out the gender at 13 weeks but have been nervous to get too much, I’m now 15.5
