Cabin in the woods? :)
I’m not sure where to ask this and I’m looking for advice. If you had the ability to build a small cabin in the middle of the woods on family property as a “camp” without utilities not primary living space (but where gardening, foraging & hunting is possible and there is clean running water), but it would totally eat up your savings account- in light of current events, would you do it? Our actual house is in a pretty urban location- I want to be in the country, but my husband wants to live here near his job. We are both essential workers with secure jobs, it would probably take 2-3 years to rebuild our savings account.
My husband left it up to me. We cannot just pitch a tent as there are black bears & coyotes, and the occasional cougar or bob cat there. It’s also too cold most of the year and the cabin would be insulated with a woodstove.
