Prevent stretch marks ?

Hi! Pregnant with my first here and wondering what products I should start using to prevent stretch marks? When should I start using? I am 8 weeks.

I was told it’s mostly genetics but I started using cocabutter/shea butter lotions around 8 weeks and I’m currently 32weeks and the only stretch marks I have are on the undersides of my boobs (not a single mark on my tummy).

It depends on genetics, there isn’t anything that will stop you from getting them.
I definitely wouldn’t  go buying expensive creams because they don’t work, it seems like they work for some people because they have genetics that don’t predispose them to getting stretch marks.

You can not prevent stretch marks with any products. They are genetic. If anyone uses creams or oils and doesn’t get stretch marks, then they wouldnt have gotten them anyway. So save your money on any expensive products. I learned the hard way. I bought Bio Oil, Coconut oil, Castor oil, Almond oil, Vitamin e Oil, shea butter, avocado butter and oil. I literally drenched myself in it morning and night. I still have stretch marks all over my stomach

Its genetics you'd have to stop. Unfortunately there's no real way to keep them from happening. But keeping your skin moisturized (I use a heavy lotion with cocoa butter) can help it feel better. Less itch, less dry spots, etc. I regularly moisturize my skin, even before pregnancy.  But started paying more attention to the stretch mark zones (stomach, hips, butt, thighs) as soon as I noticed I had "popped."
