Cold sore remedies?

I’ve been getting cold sores since I was in middle school. Recently switched from the pill to the implant and noticed a really bad break out and now a cold sore, haven’t gotten one in a while. Now that I’m in a relationship it’s a nuisance not being able to kiss my bf until it goes away. Any remedies for the one I currently have think the skip fell off is it too late to treat it?
