First trimester miscarriage is often not a factor of the mother's health, but if there is an abnormality in the embryo that causes it to stop growing. I know that's little comfort, because it's always sad when it happens. I had a chemical pregnancy before my current pregnancy and it still depressed me, and I was only 4-5 weeks along when it ended. But there's little you can do to prevent a miscarriage from a chromosomal abnormality. But it's also why everybody celebrates that 12w mark, and that once you see the heartbeat on an ultrasound, chances of miscarrying drop dramatically. Try to think positively and keep busy, it helps. :-)

You can't stress about it. Easier said than done, I know. I'm healthy as a horse and I miscarried. I've also had a healthy pregnancy.

It doesn't happen because the mother is unhealthy but because the baby isn't growing normally. I was 19 when I miscarried.
