What are you grateful for?
I know right now life is in anxious place, so what is one thing that you’re grateful for right now? (Other than you baby, because that’s a given).
Back story (feel free to skip, and just answer the main question)
Yesterday we had to go to the emergency department for another tube insertion. It’s the last place you want to be at the moment with a baby who has chronic lung disease. Followed by the actual tube insertion, which is 3 adults holding your baby down as they thrash and SCREAM, whilst another adult puts a tube in and out of your nose. It was a hard day, so once I got home we staged a mini photo shoot with some affirmation cards we have.
The include sayings like:
- I am safe.
- take each day moment by moment.
- I will let go of what I can’t control
- I am resilient
- I am allowed to cry.
It helped shift a tiny bit of the anxiety.
