Been taking birth control wrong

So my doctor never clarified on how to take my birth control.. I even read the instructions and to take it every day no break. May have thrown away some of the info... so I have a 3 week pack, usually there’s a 4 week pack and the last week is placebo pills. Well for mine I have to remember to stop for 7 days Bc it doesn’t say on the package. Keep in mind this is my first time taking birth control. I’m on my second pack on the 2nd week. I didn’t stop for 7 days. What do I do now?? Just stop for 7 days for the 4th week? So I get back on track?? Ive also been spotting but maybe that’s because my body is confused? I also never got my Period
