Would it Make Sense?
So my “two week quarantine” started last Monday at work. They told us all that we would be off for two weeks *minimum* and that we do receive administrative leave at this time. This is my second week and as the week is half over my supervisor messaged me stating that she’s contacted our Lt. and he says they’re still talking about us coming back to work on Monday or not so to hold tight into an answer.
So we quarantined before stuff really started hitting the fan in my state. We started as there was one case (in my county) and like 30 in a city five hours away.
Within this week and a half alone, our state has almost 500 cases, 7 in my county, over 50 in the county I work in, and over like 11 deaths at this point.
My question is, if we weren’t considered essential then, why should we be now? Why is this even a consideration? The answer, in my opinion, should just simply be no, do not return to work on Monday until further notice. Not to mention the whole state is on “stay at home” order until I think the 16 of April but I feel that also changed to the 30th here recently.
I’m a Vehicle Identification Number inspector for those that wonder if I’m essential or not.
