Should I be worried

My wife and I got married over 20 years ago and the past 10ish years she hasn’t been wearing her ring because it was broken. I went to a jewelers recently to get it fixed and surprise her. They said they didn’t see anything wrong besides a prong a tiny but loose. When I gave it to her today she got upset and asked if she should wash her hands after touching it because of covid and said she is annoyed I took it to get it fixed without her because they could have swapped out her diamonds, and She will not wear it still because she doesn’t want to snag it on things. Should I be concerned?
