Which puppy would you get?

My boyfriend and I can’t decide whether to get an Akita or a Pomeranian. I know that went from 0-100 super fast lol but we REALLY love both breeds. The Akita was my boyfriends childhood dog and the Pom Pom was mine. We do have a four year old daughter so I worry about her being too rough with a baby Pom. She’s super adventurous with a sprinkle of angel and mischief lol. I’ll include some pics of the Akita’s and we all already know how cute Pomeranians can be 💕

Akita’s are sometimes known as a more aggressive and high maintenance type of dog. Some apartment complexes don’t even accept them. I personally would go with a Pomeranian... it’s a much easier dog to own.

Akita is a high energy and needs dog. Is someone going ri take him on a rub 2x a day to keep him from ripping your house up? They can also be aggressive so it will need training to be sure they dont developed bad habits. Have you thought about adopting a shelter dog? They need homes now more than ever.

i have an Akita and she is so gentle and sweet and kind!! i absolutely love her I might be biased but whatever, they do need space to run though

Akita 100%. I’m just not a fan of super small dogs. Poms are cute, but I love Akitas. I had a Shiba Inu (like a medium sized cousin) and I fell in love with those breeds. Akitas are loyal and incredible family dogs. If you don’t mind tears, watch the movie Hachi, it’s about an Akita.

Pomeranian. Akita’s are known to be more aggressive and a lot more work. I’ve had poms and as you know they are so good with kids. Akita’s will require a ridiculous amount of work and training but the possibility of it not tolerating your child is very likely no matter what. Same with a Pom of course, but I’ve always heard Akita’s are not good children/family dogs.

It really depends on what type of dog you're looking for. They ate on two completely different sides of the spectrum. One is a lap dog, and the other is going to need a lot exercise. You need to pick the one that best fits your lifestyle. Personally I wouldn't want a pomeranian. The only small breed I like are Jack Russell's. That being said I'm use to high energy dogs, and that's what I look for. My favorite breed is a Dalmatian. Again it depends on the kind of life you live. Don't get the akita if you aren't an active family.

Akita’s need a lot of work . My friends dad owned one and he was a dumbass . I had to get 7 stitches in my face because it bit me . After being around it many times . The dog was just hanging out with me on the couch and I pet it and it just jumped and bit me . He had no clue how to take care of that dog and being older now I know that .

There is a lot of difference between the breeds. I think the Akita is a breed that requires a lot of attention.
