When is my baby ready for baby food

She will be 5 months old in about 2 weeks she is a supported sitter and I have been giving her oatmeal she is also showing interest in food and watch’s me and her dad eat she has also tried to pull my hand to her mouth when I have food in it I don’t want to give it to her to early is there any other signs I should be looking for and how do I start giving it to her when she’s ready how many times a day and how much ?

She is a very hungry baby and is hungry often but doesn’t want more milk when she eats that’s why I started giving her oatmeal
