Potty train 11 month old

My baby has recently started pulling his diaper off especially when he had peed in it a couple times.. is it too early to start potty training?? My mom keeps telling me that he’s ready and it’s best to start early but I’m scared! I don’t want to start him too early because I still want him to be my little baby boy and not a full grown toddler! If anyone has potty trained this early let me know your experience and tactics!
