Wait or go?

My daughter has her 15 month doctors appointment scheduled for next week and she’s due for a few immunizations. With COVID-19 cases about to peak here in Illinois, would you reschedule or go as planned? I’m torn because I feel her immunizations are important, but I am wondering if it’s best to wait until cases begin to decline in our area.

I'd personally give a call to her doctor and ask them. I'm not living in America, but here in Germany, doctor's usually want only the important checkups and plan their schedule so every patient has enough space and time for isolation right now.

Our daughter has her 15 month tomorrow. They are recommending all under 2 years still come for well checks and vaccines.

I took my twins to their appointment as usual since the doctor didn't call to cancel it. We got their vaccines done. But after that, the pediatrician said that they would be doing video appointments or something for the next few months.

I would call and ask what your doctor thinks. Our regular clinic is only open for sick kids and they moved all monthly well visits for vaccinations to other nearby clinics. They took temperatures at the door and asked us questions about ant illnesses in the house etc. they set it up really well!

I’ve been wondering the same thing! My daughter goes in 2 weeks and we live in Texas and keep hearing we will be peaking in the next couple weeks. I’m going to message the doctor and ask what they recommend, but I feel like I should reschedule. A hospital is the last place I want to take her right now and my husband works at the hospital and I know there’s a lot of cases there right now.

My doctor called at said we had to wait that she will not have my child coming in during this time.
